    Genesis /《
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while the spirit of God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said,“Let there be light”;and there was light. And God saw that the light was good;and God separated the light from the darkness.God called the light Day,and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
And God said,“Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. And it was so.God called the dome Sky.And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him,and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left. Then the king will say to those at his right hand,“Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;for I was hungry and you gave me food,I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,I was a stranger and you welcomed me,I was naked and you gave me clothing,I was sick and you took care of me.I was in prison and you visited me.”Then the righteous will answer him,“Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food,or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that you we saw you a stranger and welcomed you,or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?”And the king will answer them,“Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”

Then he told them a parable:The land of a rich man produced abundantly. And he thought to himself,“What should I do,for I have no place to store my crops?” Then he said,“I will do this:I will pull down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul,‘Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years;relax, eat, drink,be merry.’”But God said to him,“You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you.And the things you have prepared ,whose will they be?”So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God.

He said to his disciples,“Therefore I tell you,do not worry about your life, what you will eat,or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.Consider the ravens:they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them.Of how much more value are you than the birds! And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?[or:add a cubit to your stature?]If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest?Consider the lilies, how they grow:they neither toil nor spin;yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not keep striving for what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not keep worrying. For it is the nations of the world that strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them.Instead, strive for his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”

Caesar(恺撒)曾想拉拢他,但没有成功。
    De officiis /《
First nature has ordained that any kind of living being should protect its life and body, and that they avoid anything which seems to be harmful, and that they search for and appropriate everything which is necessary for life, for example food, hiding places and the like. The common desire of all living beings is the desire for union aimed at procreation and a certain care for the offspring that has been born. But between animals and men there is in particular this one difference that the animals, insofar as they are motivated by sensual impressions, only respond to the things that are at hand and appear in this moment, and they have little appreciation for things past or for the future.

The search and investigation for truth is an activity typical for human beings. Thus in times when we are free from urgent matters and obligations,we desire to see, hear or learn something, and we think that the understanding of hidden or admirable things forms an indispensable part of a happy life. From this we can see that whatever is true, simple, and genuine is closest to human nature.Connected with this desire for perceiving the truth is a certain appetite for leadership,so that a naturally well predisposed mind may be willing to obey only a person who teaches or instructs or who imposes rule for the sake of common benefit, justly and lawfully. In this lies the greatness of a mind, namely the contempt for earthly values.

And this force of nature and reason is not negligible indeed, namely that only this one living being has a feeling for order, for decency in word and deed, for measure.Concerning the things which are perceived by the eye,no other living being perceives here beauty, charm, and symmetry of mane, dies sextus.
Then God said,“Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness;and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,and over the birds of the air,and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”So God created humankind in his image,in the image of God he created them;male and female he created them.God blessed them, and God said to them,“Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it;and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”God said,“See,I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit;you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air,and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life,I have given every green plant for food.”And it was so.God saw everything that he had made, and indeed,it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Et serpens erat callidior cunctis animantibus agri, quae fecerat Dominus the parts.A being of rational nature transfers this analogy from visible things to spiritual things and believes that refinement, constancy, and order must be kept even more in intentions and actions, and one is careful to avoid disgraceful or unmanly actions.Rational beings want to avoid in all thought and action any uncontrolled or greedy thought or deed. These things form and shape honor, the question which we want to discuss, what is honorable, even if it is not known by all,and which is naturally laudable, even if nobody should accept it,as we rightly say.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other wild animal that the LORD God had made.He said to the woman,“Did God say,‘You shall not eat from any tree in the garden’?”The woman said to the serpent,“We may eat of the fruit of the the trees in the garden;but God said,‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, nor shall you touch it,or you shall die.’”But the serpent said to the woman,“You will not die;for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,knowing good and evil.”So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate;and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her,and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked;and they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.
They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man,and said to him,“Where are you?”He said,“I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked;and I hid myself.”

    inmedio=in medio在中间Exodus /《出埃及记》20:117
    《圣经·旧约·出埃及记》内容简介:《旧约》第2卷是Exodus(“离开”、“出走”),即以色列人从埃及逃走的故事。根据《圣经》的说法,神解放了他们,使他们脱离奴役之家。在沙漠中,神向以色列人宣布他的法律,即著名的“摩西十诫”(所谓decalogus)。前面三诫(不可拜偶像、不可妄呼神之名、要遵守安息日)与神有关,而后七诫(尊敬父母、不可杀人、不可奸淫、不可偷窃、不可说谎、不可贪图别人的妻子、不可贪图别人的财产)管理社会生活。关于第五诫的解释,请参见Thomas Aquinas(托马斯·阿奎那)的文献。
    拉丁语原文:
Then God spoke all these words:
I am the LORD your God,who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;you shall have no other gods before me.You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above,or that is on the earth beneath,or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or worship them;for I the LORD your God am a jealous God,punishing children for the iniquity of parents,to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the LORD your God,for the LORD will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
Remember the sabbath day,and keep it holy.Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God;you shall not do any workyou, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock,or the alien resident in your towns. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea,and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day;therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it.
Honor your father and your mother,so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house;you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife,or male or female slave,or ox,or donkey,or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Go to the ant,you lazybones;consider its ways, and be wise.
Without having any chief or officer or ruler,
it prepares its food in summer, and gathers its sustenance in harvest.
How long will you lie there,o lazybones? When will you rise from your sleep?
A little sleep,a little slumber,a little folding of the hands to rest,

    annuit oculis,terit pede,digito loquitur,

winking the eyes, shuffling the feet, pointing the fingers,

on such a one calamity will descend suddenly;in a moment, damage beyond repair.

后来通用的权威性拉丁语译本来自Hieronymus(热罗尼摩)之手。
    Matthaeus / Matthew /《
    Sic vos orabitis:
    Pater noster,qui es in caelis,
    sanctificetur nomen tuum,adveniat regnum tuum,
fiat voluntas tua sicut in caelo et in terra.
    Panem nostrum cottidianum da nobis hodie;
    et dimitte nobis debita nostra,sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris;
et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
    sed libera nos a malo.
This is how you should pray:
    Our Father in heaven,
holy be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth,as it is in heaven.
